Due to our ongoing growth, Macmahon is currently seeking enthusiastic and experienced people to join the team at the King of the Hills (KOTH) mine located in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, 28km north of Leonora. Macmahon has secured a five-year Surface and Underground mining contract with RED 5 Ltd. The mine anticipates annual production above 200kozpa. KOTH is Australia’s next major Gold Mine, which will feature state-of-the-art technology, 85% new plant and brand-new camp facilities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Manager on an 8:6 roster to the Project with responsibilities not limited to:

  • Generate operating plans and budgets that align with the Company’s operating requirements and maximise, as practicable, the underground mine’s positive contribution to the Operation
  • Ensuring that effective daily, weekly, monthly and long term planning and forecasting for operations, capital expenditure and production physicals are aligned with budget and targets
  • Provide technical support to the mining operations as required
  • Analyse and report on mining operational performance to identify any early interventions required to maintain performance
  • Communicate with mine personnel on a regular basis, keeping them informed on the status, direction and targets of the Operation
  • Develop, implement, manage, review and improve safe systems of work for underground mining operations to ensure compliance to legislation, Company policies and procedures
  • Evaluation and optimisation of new and existing resources
  • Preparation of annual budgets, reforecasts and LOM planning and budgeting for the underground mining operations

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience

  • WA Underground First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
  • Extensive experience in a senior mining leadership role,
  • Quarry Manager Ticket
  • WA Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency
  • Significant and applicable underground mining experience
  • Good leadership and communication skills across all levels of business
  • Leading high standards of performance, safety and environmental management.
