Reporting to the CFRO, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the Market, Liquidity and Capital risk management frameworks for the organisation;
  • Producing management reporting on asset and liability issues;
  • Preserving the rate feeds, valuations of financial instruments and valuation models;
  • Ensuring daily trades and key risk measures are scrutinised (e.g. VaR, Liquidity Coverage Ratio, stress tests) against management and policy limits;
  • Reviewing and uplifting risk management models (VaR and stress test models), systems and frameworks;
  • Educating and developing staff on treasury and market risk;
  • Establishing operational excellence and finding creative solutions to problems;
  • Overseeing reviews of operational and risk systems, and business processes to uncover prospective efficiencies;
  • Acting on behalf of the CFRO in meetings and other ad-hoc responsibilities; AND
  • Providing knowledge and assistance to the Financial Markets and Client Services team.  

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Law or related field and/or professional affiliations- ideally;
  • Experience in financial services market and liquidity risk-required;
  • Previous experience with Treasury management systems ie. Quantum and Analytics;
  • Deep understanding of risk and compliance management frameworks and systems;
  • 5+ years experience in treasury and market risk;
  • Understanding in risk methodologies as they apply in a treasury business including duration, VAR and EAR;
  • Excellent numeracy skills including financial modelling, spreadsheet and model skills, analysis and PowerBI-ideally;
  • Familiarity with financial information software portals such as Bloomberg;
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards (APRA); AND
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and build sound relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and external consultants.
