2 x Full Time Permanent positions are available. Training Officers partner for patients by designing and providing training to HealthShare NSW and NSW Health employees and customers. The Training Officer is responsible for creating contemporary and stimulating learning solutions to increase capability across skills, processes and systems. 
You will have experience in scoping, identifying, and addressing learning and development needs by applying theories and strategies within a large scale, high performance human resources or employee transactional environment.  
You will display resilience and courage, with the ability to think on your feet to deliver training face to face and via online and eLearning platforms. You will thrive in our collaborative, innovative and fast paced culture. You will build strong relationships by applying your excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence to deliver results.  
You will value your own development and proactively research contemporary training practices, trends, developments and tools. You will be familiar with learning management systems and learning design software, such as Camtasia and Articulate. Current training qualifications are essential – Certificate IV Training and Assessment at minimum.

There are multiple Full Time Permanent positions graded as a Health Manager Level 1 with an annual salary of $76,152.00 to $102,438.00 (Excl. 10% superannuation). Location: Sky Central Charlestown.

How to apply
During the application process, you will be required to attach your resume and provide answers to the Targeted Questions below. You must ensure your answers make reference to all of the Essential Requirements listed in the Position Description prior to submitting your application.

  • Give an example of a time when you had to tailor a specific presentation to suit the audience. Describe the situation, why you needed to tailor the presentation and the communication skills you used to ensure the audience understood the concept.
  • Please tell us about your experience in scoping, identifying and addressing Learning and Development needs within a large scale high performance human resources or employee transactional environment. How did you manage time and stakeholder expectations effectively?
  • Scenario 1: You are asked to collaborate on a project to educate Contact Centre Customer Service Representatives about privacy requirements and responsibilities. We will need to consider running multiple training sessions to avoid negatively impacting availability to customers. Staff will need to complete this training annually. Using your knowledge of learning strategies, what steps would you take to design the training program and how would you confirm the required learning objectives had been achieved?
  • Scenario 2: A stakeholder asks you to collaborate on a project to enhance the quality of the customer experience provided by our organisation. You will be required to design and deliver training to staff in corporate and hospital environments across NSW. Training or conference rooms are available at some sites. Some staff do not have access to computers. What design and delivery options would you recommend to the stakeholder?

You will be asked to complete a psychometric assessment (eg. personality and cognitive abilities assessments) in the recruitment process for this position.

Vaccination Requirements
This is a NSW Health Category B position.
Under the Public Health (COVID 19 Vaccination of Health Care Workers) Order 2021 Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination will now be required for all NSW Health staff and individuals engaged by third parties.
When do I need to have my first vaccination dose? 

  • If you live in one of the Areas of concern  you are required to have your first vaccination dose by 19 September 2021 if you are an authorised worker and leave your LGA of concern to attend work.
  • For Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF) and Multi-Purpose Sites (MPS) you will need to have your first vaccination dose by 16 September 2021.
  • All other health workers will need to have their first vaccination dose by 30 September 2021 and second dose by 30 November 2021.

If you have not yet received your COVID-19 vaccination, you need to book now:

  • NSW Health vaccination clinics and participating general practices and pharmacies across the state are open for COVID-19 vaccination bookings.
  • You can also book by visiting the Australian Government eligibility checker.

If you have a Medical Reason you cannot be vaccinated:

  • a COVID-19 Vaccine Medical Contraindication form must be completed by a GP or Medical Practitioner.
  • An exemption to the Public Health Order requirements will only be considered if you are unable, due to a medical contraindication, to be vaccinated against COVID-19. You will only be granted an exemption if you have medical contraindications to the available COVID-19 vaccines.

You are required by the Public Health Order to provide evidence of your vaccination status prior to commencing employment with HealthShare NSW.
