Trainee Educator (Certificate III)

Obtain a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113)

Full-time contract for 12 months

Based within our Newcastle based Early Learning Center

Commencing early January 2021

What will you do?

The successful applicant will complete their traineeship on the job while working full-time over a minimum period of 12 months. The duration of the fixed-term traineeship and working arrangements hours of work will be reviewed with the successful applicant to determine the ‘best fit’ for the individual within organisational and traineeship requirements.

This trainee role will provide the successful applicant with:

  • On the job training.
  • The opportunity to gain a qualification with the support of qualified staff.
  • The opportunity to develop skills and knowledge while working with children and studying.

Samaritans Early Learning Centre is located in the inner city of Newcastle. It caters for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years and is open 5 days a week 7.30am – 6.00pm, 49 weeks per year. A core focus of our Center is to enhance individual learning outcomes by creating an environment that develops the abilities and confidence for each child attending the Centre.


What is required?

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following Essential Criteria:

  • Successful completion of the HSC.
  • An understanding out of hours study will be required
  • Must be over 18 years of age to be counted as primary contact staff toward the staff to child ratios as specified by the Regulation for a centre or mobile children’s service
  • An energetic and reliable individual committed to completing a Certificate III traineeship in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Have a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Valid NSW Driver’s License, Senior First Aid Certificate, and the ability to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
