(Job 2) Technical Test Analyst

 

Description:

We are looking for someone to support the project delivery as a solid and experienced Test Analyst.  You will have a systematic and collaborative approach to test planning and execution, strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of teams and technologies.

 

Reporting to the Test Manager/Test Lead the Test Analyst will be responsible for participating in analysing requirements and translating those to test cases.  The Test Analyst will perform test execution across multiple platforms and contribute to reviews and participate in workshops and sprint ceremonies as applicable. 

 

This role requires someone who is a confident communicator and well experienced in Waterfall and Agile methodologies to be able to deliver in accordance to the Test Strategy.

 

Critical requirements:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • Must have a driver’s licences
  • Must be willing to work both from home and client site
  • Mandatory Baseline Clearance
  • Must be willing to perform a probity check.

 

(Job 1) Test Analyst (Application, System Integration, Interagency Datawarehouse)

 

Primary responsibilities:

The services will include and not be limited to:

  • Execute test cases as required within the test suites and record the results of test execution;
  • Adhere to Defect Management strategy to manage defects;
  • Document test plans in line with the department Test Strategy;
  • Assist the Enterprise Testing and Quality Assurance section and other teams with testing activities as required this may include peer reviews, walk throughs;
  • Provide feedback/reports on estimates of testing effort and progress for project management and planning activities;
  • Liaise with Business Analysts, System Analysts, Architects and Business Subject Matter Experts to clarify intended system behaviour and supporting business processes;
  • Collaborate with many stakeholders and subject matter experts including the co-ordination of UAT with multiple business teams;
  • Ability to work within team and/or autonomously if required;
  • Work with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile; and.
  • Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices.

Experience and Skills…

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business Systems, or a related discipline; or relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience (3+years) in manual testing, including:
  • Experience in application (including D365), Datawarehouse (with strong SQL skills and ETL knowledge) system integration and mobile device testing.
  • Experience using various test tools (i.e. Azure DevOps, MicroFocus ALM and ALM Octane)
  • Thorough understanding of testing practices and processes in agile and waterfall project environment.
  • Working independently, at the direction of the Test Manager, following testing processes.
  • Provide test estimations and work to these timeframes for upcoming work.
  • Strong experience in the preparation and
  • maintenance of test plans, test cases, test results and defect reporting.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Datawarehouse testing experience for Datawarehouse test role.
  • Interagency testing experience for Interagency test role.
  • Desktop testing experience for Desktop test role.

 

Qualifications…

Mandatory:

  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate or equivalent certificate, or relevant practical experience.
  • ISTQB Foundation Agile Extension Certificate or equivalent.

 

Desirable:

  • Automation testing experience using Selenium.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst or equivalent.
  • ISTQB Agile Tester certificate or equivalent.
  • Tertiary qualification in IT
  • Experience or knowledge of, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and automation test tools.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Agile Technical Tester or equivalent
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Mobile Application Testing or
  • equivalent
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst or equivalent
  • ISTQB Foundation Agile
  • Extension Certificate or equivalent
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or equivalent

 

(Job 2) Technical Test Analyst

 

Primary responsibilities:

The services will include and not be limited to:

  • Maintain and/or enhance of automation framework;
  • Use the department’s test automation tools to develop automated test scripts leveraging the various frameworks to enable the automated testing of the department’s systems;
  • Execute and debug test scripts as required within the test suites and record the results of script execution; 
  • Document automation test plans in line with the department’s Automation Test Strategy;
  • Assist the Enterprise Testing and Quality Assurance section and other teams with testing activities as required this may include peer reviews, walk throughs;
  • Provide feedback/reports on estimates of testing effort and progress suitable for project management and planning activities;
  • Liaise with Business Analysts, System Analysts, Architects and Business Subject Matter Experts to clarify intended system behaviour and supporting business processes; and
  • Work with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.  Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Departments recordkeeping policy and practices.

  • Demonstrated experience (3+years) in automation testing, including: Programming/scripting experience (VBScript/.NET, Java, SQL, HTML, and other languages).
  • Significant experience with testing automation tools (Selenium, TestNG, junit, Appium)
  • Experience testing in a Windows environment with different application stacks such as: Siebel, .Net, and SAP.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TFS
  • Knowledge of Java, PowerShell scripts and VBScript language.
  • Knowledge on mobile automation and API automation
  • Experience with Test Management tools
  • Proven knowledge and experience working with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile

 

Qualifications…

Mandatory:

  • Formal training in testing theory or equivalent industry experience (i.e. ISTQB or CSTP).
  • Basic level of capability with a range of test automation tools and languages, such as VBScript/.NET, Java, SQL, HTML, UFT, LeanFT, Selenium, Java, Rest Assured, Maven and SoapUI
  • Certification in automation tools
  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate or equivalent certificate, or relevant practical experience
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Agile Technical Tester or equivalent
  • Experience or knowledge of a wide variety of testing tools, testing techniques/methodologies, and effort required to undertake specific testing activities
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices.

 

Desirable:

  • ISTQB Foundation Agile Extension Certificate or equivalent, or relevant practical experience
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Agile Technical Tester or equivalent
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Mobile Application Testing or equivalent
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager Certificate or equivalent, or relevant practical experience
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or equivalent
