Senior Therapy Lead

North-West Area Mental Health Service (NWAMHS, a Service of Melbourne Health) is re-orienting its service model towards the enhancement of psychotherapy for consumers who require it and we are seeking experienced psychotherapy staff (P4) to be part of this exciting opportunity. 

 

The Senior Therapy Lead is a newly developed role focused on leading the development and implementation of innovative psychotherapeutic approaches to consumers of NWAMHS with mental health difficulties. The Senior Therapy Lead will also have the opportunity to conduct their own psychotherapeutic practice for a small number of consumers. Your role will initially be based at Moreland Community team, but will develop to have a focus that incorporates Hume, the other Community Mental Health Team of NWAMHS.

The Moreland Community team is a large, supportive and dynamic team made up of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers. We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government areas of Moreland and Hume.  Our team has a long standing reputation for being collegial, supportive and placing value in the individual skills, experience and personal attributes that each member of our team brings.  As part of a large multi-site service including multiple Area Mental Health Services we are able to provide our staff with unique opportunities to develop professionally

 

Your new role:

  • Conduct your own psychotherapeutic practice for consumers of NWAMHS;
  • Lead the development of innovative psychotherapeutic approaches to consumers of NWAMHS with mental health difficulties.
  • Support and enhance the psychotherapeutic approaches currently in use within NWAMHS.
  • Lead the evaluation of psychotherapeutic practice within NWAMHS

About you:

  • Comprehensive experience working within the public mental health system (or similar)
  • You have a well-developed psychotherapeutic practice
  • You have experience and training in at least two different models of psychotherapy
  • You are able to provide supervision
