SMC Executive is proud to be partnering with this leading Australian Wealth Manager who have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Manager, Investment Reporting and Analytics, to run a small team of experienced reporting professionals.

The Investment Reporting & Analytics Team sits within the broader Investment Operations team, where the team provides reporting and analytical services to a broad stakeholder group covering investment teams, clients and distribution. This role is responsible for the management of performance and detailed attribution reports to clients and internal/external stakeholders across various funds.

Reporting to the Head of Investment Operations & Performance Reporting you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the team are delivering accurate, timely and consistent reporting services to Investment teams, Client services, Client communications, external clients and research houses.
  • Driving the development of a high performing team which consistently delivers against both the Investment Reporting & Analytics as well as the wider corporate objectives.
  • Building out and maximising the functionality of the performance reporting capability, including regulatory reporting.
  • Developing relationships with various internal teams as well as external vendors and custodians, through the provision of high quality solutions.
  • Leading a team that are responsible for periodic total return & attribution reports across various funds.
  • Providing strong analytical toolsets to help the team operate efficiently and effective, preferably with a solid understanding of data and databases. An understanding of report generation and data extracts. SQL is desirable.
  • Liaising with external parties such as performance consultants and research houses, including responding to queries.
  • Contributing to the development of efficiencies and improvements to Investment Reporting & Analytics functions, processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining and enhancing controls over processes and deliverables. 

The personal characteristics, experience and qualifications that will ensure success in the role are:

  • Minimum 7 years in the Performance and Reporting or Analytics area. 
  • Experience in managing and leading high performing teams
  • Relevant professional qualifications or working towards them (CFA or CIPM)
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or another numerical discipline
  • Knowledge across asset classes, financial instruments and investment vehicles including alternatives and derivatives.
  • Experience using detailed performance systems and market data systems (Eg. StatPro, Bloomberg & Factset).
  • Previous experience with system transitions and/or data migrations.
  • Ability to work across functional business teams.
  • Excellent relationship building, client service and delivery skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Australian & International wealth management industry, including industry issues, trends, investment products and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to understand accounting data.
