About the role
Collaboration is key when working in this unit, you will be reporting to the Manager, however, working closely with other advisors within the team to form a strong partnership for service delivery. With the increase in demand for services across this specialist unit there are multiple temporary opportunities available, both permanent and temporary, to experienced professionals in this sector. These opportunities are available across two teams, the Industrial Relations & Enterprise Bargaining team and the Employee Relations team. These two core teams focus on enterprise bargaining and industrial relations services across the department, including external advocacy and representation in commissions and tribunals.

Your opportunity
As the Senior Employee Relations Advisor, you will provide advice and services to support employee and industrial relations functions, services and priorities for the department. High performance, dedication to problem solving, adaptability and quality client service are key elements that will determine your success in this team. You will be responsible for:

  • Advocating the department’s position at tribunals, including the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission conferences and hearings
  • Providing advice to internal and external stakeholders relating to industrial relations and employee relations matters, including enterprise bargaining
  • Developing draft submission, correspondence and briefing notes for approval by senior officers relating to IR and ER matters
  • Establishing effective networks and liaising with clients, officers and union representatives to promote contemporary IR matters
  • Participating in negotiations with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective industrial outcomes

There are no mandatory requirements for the role however relevant tertiary qualifications will be well regarded.
