The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to support our teams delivering Utilities projects across Queensland, based out of our Fortitude Valley office. The role provides support from project setup and systems governance, through to the delivery of works and will help to drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.

You will be responsible for

  • Understanding all commercial aspects of the construction and utilities contracts and identifying key areas of financial risk
  • Cost control management
  • Procurement of subcontractors and negotiation of commercial terms in accordance with Company subcontracting protocols
  • Management of subcontractor claims (including payment, variations and EOT)
  • Preparation of monthly Head Contract progress claims
  • Liaising closely with the Project Manager and the wider project team to ensure commercial risks are mitigated
  • Ensuring internal monthly financial reporting requirements are met based on disciplined forecasting and tracking of revenue and costs
  • Support the preparation, review and response to all contractual correspondence
  • Maintaining all necessary registers, contractual documentation and templates
  • General commercial administration and document control, as required

What we need from you
To be successful in this role you will need to be experienced as a Senior Contracts Administrator within the construction or utilities sectors. You will also,

  • Possess a good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the construction/utilities industry
  • Preferable to have a relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar field
  • Have good IT skills and advanced skills in Excel and Word
  • Have a high level of personal motivation and commercial acumen
  • Experience with JDE will be an advantage, but is not essential
  • An affinity for continuous improvement and innovation, applying learnings to ‘real world’ project delivery environments
