Your Team

The Digital Channels – Mobile Engineering Native team is responsible for the technology direction and core banking features that underpin our award winning CommBank Mobile App for both iOS and Android. We are the core and primary team driving to deliver the bank of tomorrow that goes beyond banking for our 7 million customers.

On any given week you will:

  • Collaborate with team members in a cross-functional team to deliver world-class and high-quality products on the Commbank App

  • Provide constructive input into architectural decisions for new features

  • Represent our customers by ensuring experience is simple, elegant and impactful

  • Provide technical guidance/coaching/mentoring to other engineers

  • Contribute to growing the next upcoming mobile talent through our grad and intern Academy

  • Contribute and be an advocate to the wider Android community through participation in Android guilds for knowledge sharing and learning

About you & what you’ll bring with you:

  • A passion for developing robust and secure native Android applications in Kotlin

  • Extensive experience with mobile application design and development best practices

  • Experience delivering software in a modern agile environment

  • Good understanding of RESTful services and Integration with Android applications

  • Solid enterprise application architecture experience in deisgn patterns, concurrency and performance

  • A curiosity of all things Android and keeping tabs on latest technology trends

  • Growth mindset and not afraid of a challenge

  • Solid experience with unit testing and UI test automation

  • Advocate for best engineering practice and innovative customer experiences on Android

  • End-to-end experience that extends beyond front-end mobile to the back-end is a plus

  • A Risk Management mindset to assess and control an organization’s exposure to risks of various kinds and apply this appropriately to diverse situations
