Our Design & Construction department at Scentre Group is responsible for the end-to-end process from concept to delivery of our Westfield living centres. An integral part of this is the extensions and upgrades to existing centres. We develop and deliver designs that reflect the Westfield experience and latest thinking while optimising costs and providing speed to market that exceeds the best achievable by alternate delivery methodologies.

Your opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Risk Management Administrator to the join the Design and Construction Knox Project team.

Reporting to the Risk Manager, your role as the Risk Management Administrator is to provide support, advice and assistance to the Knox project team in matters concerning risk assessment, prevention of accidents, injuries, hazards and the promotion of health and Safety.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Managing risk related documentation associated with Scentre Design & Construction acting as the principle contractor on a major construction project. 
  • providing advice and assistance to the project team in matters concerning risk assessment, prevention of accidents, injuries, hazards and the promotion of health and safety.
  • developing, implementing and monitoring the emergency procedures required on site, in conjunction with the Site Manager /Safety                                                                                  Committee/Project Management and local emergency services as appropriate.
  • undertaking reviews and audits of contractors safety related documentation, such as their Insurances, Safety Management Plan, SWMS’s, various registers and other documentation as specified by Scentre Group.
  • undertaking administrative duties related to the operation of the Safety Committee.
  • Managing Scentre Group safety related training requirements and recording.
  • Completing internal and external monthly Project Reports.
  • Developing and promote a positive safety culture of “people protecting people” where safety is the first consideration in all planning and undertaking of works.
  • presenting high quality, informative, Project Specific Site Inductions.
  • Undertaking regular Safety and Environmental inspections and Audits of works to ensure that Scentre Group are not exposed to litigation. 

What will set you apart from the rest?

You will have an interest for Risk and Work Health Safety and will also possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet conflicting deadlines while willing to work in a progressive and fast paced environment.

As this position provides dedicated support to the Risk function of the Design and Construction team, you will also have a commitment to your own and others health and safety in the workplace.

  • Demonstrated experience in similar or related role ideally within the construction industry.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications within Workplace Health and Safety
  • Proven ability to build, manage and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships.
  • Capability in driving and influence change within the workplace.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Self-Management and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently
