About the role
Our 8 bed, general Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive care to the critically ill, supported by 24/7 medical staff on site. Utilising renal replacement therapies, advanced haemodynamic monitoring, and advanced ventilation techniques, our unit practices the highest standards in critical care. Calvary North Adelaide Hospital has unique demographics that care for patients from birth to EOLC, providing services for Maternity, Oncology, Medical and Surgery.
As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing outstanding clinical care and exceptional customer service to patients and their families. This will involve assessing, planning, coordinating and evaluating the care delivery needs of each individual patient in your care.
As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver evidence based nursing care
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
- Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
- Ensure patient and staff safety
- Supervise, direct and support nursing team members
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 3 years Post Graduate Experience, previous experience in a Coronary Care/Critical Care Unit
- Relevant post graduate qualification
- Working with Children check
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
- Works well independently and within a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills
- COVID-19 vaccination (mandatory)
