About the Position
WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer with working knowledge of rail signalling systems for a start within the Rio Tinto Signals and Systems division. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all elements related to capital projects in accordance with Rio Tinto’s framework and providing strong leadership across rail projects. This role is commencing as an ongoing Monday to Friday position with adhoc site travel as required.
Duties will include:
- Support all elements (cost, quality, schedule) related to capital projects in accordance with the Rio Tinto Sustaining Capital Portfolio Framework using standard tools, procedures and specifications.
- Provide leadership in the management of all aspects related to health, safety, environment & community relating to Rail capital projects.
- Manage Consultants and Engineering Service Providers in the delivery of engineering design studies ensuring project objectives are met.
- Update and communicate to stakeholders the progress of engineering activities according to forecasts.
- Develop and participate in improvement initiatives related to capital project delivery
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or Project Management
- Minimum 5 years experience in Brownfields Projects
- Proven knowledge of rail signalling systems
- Experience in functional safety, instrumentation and control systems is highly desired but not essential
- Intermediate MS Office Skills
- C Class Drivers Licence
