Confluence Water, the Ventia, Downer and Jacobs joint venture, is one of three consortia delivering services under Sydney Water’s Partnering for Success program. Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Water’s North region, which stretches from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our great team at the Sydney Water North Head Treatment Plant. You will gain valuable experience in Sydney Water projects and join a vibrant and welcoming team. We are one year in to a 10 year program of works so you will enjoy stability, growth and career opportunities. 

• Achieve budgetary targets for the projects on which you work.
• Assist in project related design and procurement.
• Manage the engagement and delivery of works for suppliers, consultants, and subcontractors in a schedule of rate and/or lump sum environment.
• Coordinate site supervisors, organising design, scope, program and SQE adherence as well as outlining short- and medium-term workflow.
• Responsible for full contract planning scope and management of resources required (includes site visits in conjunction with operational management).
• Provide and distribute reports as per agreed timeframes (includes project summary/overview).
• Examines contract documents and drawings prior to undertaking work.
• Identification and estimation of risks and opportunities.
• Provision of information for sub-contractor agreements.
• Ensure detailed hand-over to operational team and oversee productivity on contract (including but not limited to)
– Time and resource restraints (financial)
– Client contacts
– Specifications/Drawings 

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical)
• Project Engineering experience – within the Water Industry preferrable but not essential
• Experience managing sub-contractors
• Demonstrated ability in financial management and reporting, including budgeting.
• Experience in driving quality outcomes in project delivery.
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties (internal teams, stakeholders, etc.)

• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a changing environment
