About the role 

The Philanthropy Lead is responsible for coordinating an annual program of engagement for Opera Australia Major Donors and contributors to the Patron Program playing a key role in donor retention and cultivation.

 

Some key responsibilities:  

  • Along with Philanthropy Specialists and Managers, develop annual donor engagement plans focussed on communications touchpoints and unique special events tailored for high-net-worth individuals with a shared goal of realising annual retention and acquisition targets.
  • Execution of annual donor engagement plans including event coordination, liaison with vendors, artists and Executive team ensuring event and communication activities are delivered on time and on budget
  • Coordinate accurate donor acknowledgment lists and up-to-date information for relevant Opera Australia publications 
  • Work closely with the Development Director to service a small portfolio of philanthropy partners
  • Liaise with the Ticketing Team to deliver all ticketing benefits 
  • Establish annual stewardship and renewal plans for portfolio
  • Provide research support to the Philanthropy Specialists and Managers with donor and prospect research
  • Manage prospect information in Tessitura and the prospect portfolio for event opportunities and communications.

 

About you: 
You will have over 3 years of experience working in a fundraising, events or non-for-profit environment. Tertiary qualifications in arts management, the humanities, communications or a related field is a bonus. 

You must also have: 

  • Highly developed skills at managing a variety of stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising administration
  • Demonstrated experience in event coordination
  • Sound knowledge of stewardship or managing benefits
  • Highly developed Microsoft Office skills
  • Intermediate understanding of fundraising databases
  • Sound understanding of research
