Patient Flow Coordinator

  • Part Time 48hrs per fortnight
  • Based at Royal Park Campus
  • Be responsible for ensuring smooth transition of patients through the Royal Melbourne Hospital Royal Park Campus

Your new role:

    The Patient Flow Coordinator (PFC) is responsible for ensuring smooth transition of patients through the Royal Melbourne Hospital Royal Park Campus within business hours. Primary responsibilities involves maintaining the optimal utilisation of bed resources for both Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus transfers and community admissions, respond to general hospital operations that affect patient flow, assisting with discharge and admission planning processes and acting as a resource for all staff.

       About You:

      • We are seeking an experienced nurse with demonstrated abilities to clinically lead and coordinate the flow of sub-acute patients to RPC and provide clinical support to the wards
      • Able to provide leadership and clinical support in emergency situations and active appropriate contingency plans
      • Highly developed critical thinking skills
      • Previous experience in managing patient flow, bed management or access
