This organisation is a national, high risk industry leader with a strong values-based culture. To support their ongoing focus on continuous improvement, they are looking to engage a National HSE Lead to support an extensive operation portfolio, with the ability to drive standardisation, and transform this specific function through coaching and influencing operations at a national level.
About the Position
This role is to support the continued improvement in the HSE performance with a focus on the prevention of risk through driving engagement across an incredibly diverse operational portfolio.
In order to achieve this, some elements of the role will:
- Manage a systematic approach to the management of HSE across your remit
- Work closely with the senior stakeholders to define and develop HSE systems and programs to align with the needs and operational risks faced by your sites
- Build capability amongst leadership and operational teams to drive implementation and embed HSE processes and programs and a culture of risk management
- Implement a business partnering delivery approach, discipline, and leadership capability to support operations in improving HSE outcomes
- Develop and oversee the execution of improvement projects / plans to maintain high level of performance
- Provide HSE operational risk and task support including risk assessments
- Implement learning, coaching, and monitoring programs to drive safe systems of work, quality incident investigations and the delivery of visible and felt leadership
- Assist in managing the relationship with external authorities by establishing and maintaining relationships with Regulators and Governing Bodies
- Be a trusted advisor to the business inspiring confidence and urgency when responding to customer, legislative and industry changes
The Individual
The successful candidate could come from a range of different industry profiles including heavy industrial, Oil&Gas, Petroleum, Chemical or related process disciplines, combined with:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage and influence a diverse group of stakeholders
- Ability to build trust with and gain respect of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to represent the organisation in external forums and interactions with external regulatory authorities and peers
