About the business and the role

Adelaide Night and Day Family Therapy’s core offering is Occupational Therapy, Family Therapy and Counselling to individuals, couples, and families. This position is for an OT, Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker who wants to make a difference to the lives of children to Adults living with difficulties and their families.

We work in collaboration with other well regarded practices to serve a wide range of clients.

Our general focus for therapists is in the spaces of:

  • Mental Health and counselling
  • Disability issues
  • Asperger Syndrome and other (ASD) Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Functional activities and everyday routines
  • Social/Emotional regulation and Functioning
  • Sensory processing
  • Positive behaviour support
  • Physical skills and coordination including
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Attention and concentration
  • Self regulation and alertness
  • Sleep and toileting
  • Restrictive practices
  • Handwriting

Our current Therapists see a wide range of clients from Children, Adolescents, and Adults including couples and families. So there is scope for you to gear toward the client population you desire.

We are primarily clinic based, except for clinicians who do home, work or school based assessments, or rehabilitation. We can also deliver services via telehealth.

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

We are seeking Mental Health practitioners (Psychologists, Mental Health Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Social Workers), who can see a wide range of presentations.

We are seeking experienced clinicians who can deliver a range of services to clients. We currently focus on Focussed Psychological Strategies and or daily living skills, social, emotional, sensory issues, fine and gross motor skills, home and equipment assessement etc.  The successful candidate will be working one to one with either children, or adults and their families to assist them in finding the best outcome for their difficulties

 

OT Skills and experience

  • Experience in Paediatric Work and/or Adult Work
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Able to work autonomously
  • AHPRA Registration with the OT Board is essential
  • Mental Health Endorsement is highly desirable but not essential
  • Private Practice experience is desirable but not essential
  • Family Therapy qualifications desirable but not essential
  • Current DCSI screening

Psycologist or Mental Health Social Worker  Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Paediatric Work and/or Adult Work
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder is desirable
  • Able to work autonomously
  • AHPRA Registration or AASW Registration is essential
  • Mental Health Endorsement for Better Access is essential
  • Private Practice experience is desirable but not essential
  • Family Therapy qualifications desirable but not essential
  • Current DCSI screening
