About the client:

The Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) is the peak body for sonographers in Australasia. They work as a leading voice representing and advocating for the profession of sonography with a vision to see ‘that a Sonographer is known as the expert in ultrasound across the community.’

About the role:

ASA is searching for a Membership Manager with a customer-centric approach to lead and manage the Membership, Events, and Professional Development Team based in Melbourne CBD. You will have 6 direct reports.

You will use data analytics and reporting to implement and drive the membership retention and growth strategy, working in close collaboration with the Marketing and Partnership Managers to increase engagement and awareness of sonography across Australia and NZ.

About the candidate:

The ideal candidate will be passionate and confident, take initiative and demonstrate excellent stakeholder management capabilities. Ideally, you will have previous experience working within a member association or peak body, have a customer-focused approach, and strong mentor and leadership to develop your small team.

You will be both strategic and creative, be a good people manager and project coordinator, as well as demonstrate an ability to roll up your sleeves to get things done. A passion for providing optimal user experience and service delivery is important.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of the national membership recruitment and retention plan
  • Provide support to members, committees, and volunteers
  • Generate reports on membership statistics including member surveys
  • Assist with membership database management
  • Manage and lead a team
  • Work closely with various internal/external stakeholders

To be successful you will have:

  • Ability to be innovative and look at the strategic direction of an organisation
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Empathetic nature, driven on understanding people’s needs
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships
  • Proven customer service experience ideally within a membership role
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
