About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a senior procurement professional to join CFA in the capacity of Manager Strategic Sourcing, reporting to the Program Manager Procurement, until 30 January 2023.

Located at CFA State Logistics Centre (Scoresby), the incumbent of this role may need to operate remotely when required due to COVID restrictions.

In this role, you will be required to manage the procurement practices at CFA within a centre-led model.  This position is responsible for ensuring procurement activities meet CFA and Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) government procurement policies and procedures, with a continuous improvement approach to build procurement expertise within CFA.

Also, the Manager Strategic Sourcing is responsible for the identification of major commodity procurement initiatives that deliver relevant, measurable, achievable and timely benefits. These benefits will deliver commodities at a lower cost for CFA through the use of effective strategic sourcing principles.

In addition, the Manager Strategic Sourcing provides independent expert advice and recommendations with regard to the organisational business spend activities of products/services across CFA and influences the future organisational procurement direction to derive enhanced benefits to CFA.

About You:

To be successful in this position, you need to demonstrate:

  • A tertiary qualification in business or purchasing, or established procurement professional experience operating within a Victorian Government context required.
  • Solid experience in managing large or complex procurements in-line with VGPB government procurement policies.
  • Highly developed writing, interpersonal and consultation skills providing influence and negotiation at all levels, influencing strategic direction using strong commercial and business acumen.
  • A sound ability to build relationships and liaise at all levels.
  • Leadership and management skills with the ability to manage complex issues and projects to develop innovative solutions and provide authoritative advice.
  • A well-developed understanding of VGPB guidelines and framework.
