As an emerging Australian gold producer, Minjar Gold wholly owns the Golden Dragon (WA) and Pajingo (QLD) operations and manages Barto Gold Mining’s Southern Cross Operations at Marvel Loch (WA).
Located south-west of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and currently employs around 200 people to run the underground mining, open-cut and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. It also offers excellent schooling opportunities and has all the facilities that you would expect in a large regional town.
About the role:
We a seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner for an 8-month fixed-term contract at our Pajingo mine site, this role is offered on a residential roster BIBO 5/2, 4/3 or DIDO.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for managing the underground mechanical maintenance planning to ensure that maintenance occurs in an organised and efficient manner to optimise the safety and mechanical performance of all underground mobile assets.    

  • Provide detailed Weekly and Daily Maintenance Plans to ensure mobile equipment availability is maintained at a minimum of 85%.
  • Ensure adequate resources (labour and materials) are available for planned work.
  • Manage maintenance spend in line with annual budgets.
  • Allocation of priorities to work requests.
  • Ensure plans are accurately monitored to ensure equipment availability and reliabilities are achieved.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with contractor management processes.
  • Ensure waste disposal is carried out in accordance with the Waste Management Plan.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and standards.
  • Be proactive in identifying and reporting potential hazards and eliminating risk-taking behaviours or actions.
  • Inspect and audit work areas and practices for compliance with site policy and procedures.
  • Ensure good clear communication lines within the team and with other sections/departments.
  • Drive a safety-first workplace culture, which promotes a zero-harm work environment.   

About you   

  • Trade Qualification – Mechanical
  • 10 years relevant industry
  • Understanding of statutory requirements
  • Previous experience in asset management
  • QMS1,2,3
  • Planning: to be able to anticipate future trends, probabilities and interpret consequences; to be able to execute long-range planning
  • Competent user of MS Office tools
  • Current Manual Drivers Licence.
