Aveo is seeking a dynamic and experienced Leisure and Lifestyle Officer to join Aveo Freedom Morayfield in Caboolture South, QLD.

About the role & Aveo Freedom Morayfield:

  • Part-time position available (Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:00)
  • Reporting to Care Manager
  • Liaise and build strong rapport with residents, Committees and other team members, and build strong relations volunteers, community groups and local businesses
  • Assess, initiate and implement a wide variety of activities in accordance with the individual needs and choices of each resident
  • Maintain and improve self-respect, self-confidence and quality of life for our valued residents
  • Assessing each resident’s needs, interests and abilities and consulting with them or their carers/relatives to provide an individualised recreational plan
  • Planning and implementing recreational programs and social activities. This will involve maintaining a written assessment of resident’s needs, abilities and progress
  • Freedom Morayfield is located close to cafes and restaurants, green parklands, a large shopping complex, high frequency bus and train services. It also provides easy access to the Brisbane CBD, the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay.
  • Aveo Freedom Aged Care’s purpose is to provide a caring, safe and inspiring environment that supports our residents in living their lives to the fullest through the latter stage of their ageing journey

About you:

  • Cert IV Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent required
  • Experience as a Diversional Therapist/Leisure and Lifestyle Officer in an Aged Care environment
  • Good working knowledge of relevant aged care legislation
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Current Police Check certificate
  • Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screening as part of the recruitment process

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Has the ability and is willing to maintain harmonious interpersonal and working relationships
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude and willingness to be flexible when required
  • Sound planning and time management skills
