The USQ Finance and Business Solutions Department provides innovative, connected and forward-thinking operational and business advisory services to support the transformation of the University’s academic and research priorities across the next five years and beyond. The function plays a key role in shaping and supporting the University’s strategic objectives whilst executing its financial management obligations. 

In this dynamic, agile and fast-paced environment, your ability to be innovative and work collaboratively with a large group of clients will be key to your success. Together with your relevant qualifications, memberships and experience, you will also have the: 

  • Ability to develop and maintain key trusting relationships with team members and a range of business partners within the University. 
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the delivery of strategic and operational advice using contemporary approaches and tools to support the focus on forward-looking financial and commercial lenses. 
  • Capability to lead, develop and mentor a team of professionals to deliver an outstanding service to their clients. 
  • Knowledge of how to support and enable strategic and operational plans aligned with the University’s key performance indicators, and
  • Highest possible standard of professional and personal conduct consistent with the USQ values of Respect, Integrity and Excellence. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-focussed individual to work proactively with a range of clients to develop and enable the implementation of future-focused business solutions and advisory services that support the long-term financial sustainability of the University and to provide expert advice in a complex financial environment. 

The Lead Business Advisor will report to the Director (Business Advisory) and Deputy CFO and will be based at our Toowoomba Campus.

Salary: Total remuneration range $146,065 to $161,907 pa (includes salary range of $123,417 to $136,804 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
