We are seeking an IT Commercial Specialist to lead the engagement of existing and new vendors within the Information Technology area, taking responsibility for commercial, contractual, legal and financial outcomes.

The role will actively run and facilitate the provision of commercial advice, the engagement of new and existing products and services vendors, reviewing and providing commercial leadership in new contracts and Statement of Works in the defined threshold of the Procurement policy across Technology as well as business projects.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

• Lead the engagement of existing vendors for the delivery of new IT/Business requirements and projects.
• Review, challenge and consolidate all inputs and ensure all internal stakeholders are consulted throughout the process including obtaining the appropriate approvals.
• Act as the escalation point for problems/disputes relating to supplier relationships in the delivery of project-based activity.
• Work closely with Finance and Legal teams to implement the appropriate commercial structure and levers supplier/vendors across financials, cost management and contracts that are commercially favourable.
• Actively support new business activities including reviewing terms and conditions of new contracts and SOWs.

To be considered, you must demonstrate the following:

• Experience in a commercial or public sector environment, preferably incorporating project, service delivery, technology or vendor management.
• Experience with Victorian Government State Purchase contracts and engagement models preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills across vendors, stakeholders and senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to represent the organisation and successfully deal with sensitive commercial negotiations and strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in commercial management.
• Experienced in the management and operation of vendors with proven ability assess the capability of vendors and commercial proposals against organisational strategies.
• Ability to analyse, evaluate and be creative in solving complex problems including conflict, priorities and resourcing.
