The Co-operative Life specialises in Psychosocial Support Services and we are dedicated to working with vulnerable people and making sure that they don’t slip through the cracks.

We are growing and currently have a House Manager vacancy for our Campsie Group Life Home, which will require working with and supporting participants to achieve their NDIS plan goals. This is an opportunity to join the Co-operative Life supporting individuals living with Mental Health conditions to lead meaningful lives. You need to have experience with complex personality disorders and challenging behaviours. You should be an empathetic and pragmatic thinker, be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

The House Manager role is varied, rewarding and challenging with responsibility for the complete management of the service. This includes quality service management of our clients, staff management, liaising with families, budget management, incident reporting, rostering and stakeholder management.

Our supported independent living services are person-centred and support residents to fully participate in the running of their home and to have choice and control in their living options. 

The role duties:

The House Manager role is varied, rewarding and challenging with responsibility for the complete management of the service. Our supported independent living services are person-centred and support residents to fully participate in the running of their home and to have choice and control in their living options.

  • Work part-time shifts in the home

Professional Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience managing group or SIL accommodation with supporting people in areas of complex psycho-social disability support, AOD, health and well-being
  • Knowledge and ability to implement contemporary approaches such as: Person-centred practice, active support, and willingness to be part of a high- performance team.
  • Computer literate: able to use MS Word, Outlook, rostering software & be comfortable with data entry
  • Thorough understanding and commitment to WH&S Act 2011
  • Equivalent to Certificate IV in relevant studies, or equivalent tertiary degree; equipped with relevant knowledge and experience
  • A current valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • Having own insured vehicle
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness, health and resilience to fulfil the physical demands of the role.
  • a current Police Check (National Police Certificate)
  • a current valid First Aid Certificate

Interpersonal skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated capacity to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously.
  • High level of stress resilience and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and use initiative.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills. Crisis management experience required

Qualifications:

  • Cert 4 Mental Health (Minimum)
  • Valid NDIS Screening Clearance
  • Valid First Aid Certificate  
  • Valid Driver`s Licence and own vehicle
