This brand-new hotspot located in the beachside suburb of Hampton, will be café by day and hip lounge bar my night. Open from 6am to late, this is the local’s café that they feel they have discovered for themselves, but everyone knows the secret. It is the place for great coffee and food that you want to come back to time and time again. Inspired by 1930-40’s aviation this is a unique outlet within the local precinct.
 

You will have a completely new, high spec kitchen at your disposal, where no cost has been spared. Our client’s vision is to start with a contemporary breakfast and lunch café-style service with the aim to eventually open for nights with a more lounge bar style dinner setting. With a fresh, innovative approach and energy, the venue’s possibilities are endless!
 

As a hands-on Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including food cost, ordering and plating up exceptional quality food. You will have the opportunity to design and deliver an on-trend menu with the freedom to showcase your talent and whatever drives your personal style. Part of your role will be staff development and training along with creating a ‘team mentality’ environment with a passionate energy and drive.
 

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
     
  • Previous experience within a similar, café/restaurant environment
     
  • Ability to design and deliver a creative and exciting menu
     
  • Ability to manage ordering, including stock levels, budgets and suppliers
     
  • Previous experience managing a team, including rostering
     
  • Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
     
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
