About the role

This is an important role that requires empathy and good judgement from our team. We have 3 x fixed term contract positions ranging from 9 months to 11 months. Some of the responsibilities that fall under your role are:

  • To create action plans for customers in Financial Difficulty with regard to a customer’s circumstances that brings about optimal outcomes for the customer and the Bank.
  • To exercise judgement and make appropriate recommendations in terms of the NCCP and the Code of Banking Practice whilst providing an appropriate level of customer service.
  • Meet the Bank’s productivity and quality targets through effective, timely and appropriate financial difficulty assessment techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform role in accordance with the Mortgage Help Centre Mission Statement and risk appetite, along with the relevant legal and compliance obligations.

About you 

Naturally we are seeking someone who can show care and empathy to our customers while still thinking commercially. We are seeking people with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Previous experience in banking, lending and/or collections will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of credit products will be highly regarded
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Track record of successful negotiation
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to remain composed in stressful situations
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy
