Carter Holt Harvey LVL Ltd is part of the wider Carter Holt Harvey business specialising in the production of engineered wood products, including Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) manufactured from environmentally sustainable grown plantation pine in New Zealand.

We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Graduate Software Developer to join our team based in Heidelberg, Victoria. The Graduate will be supported by an experienced Software Development Manager in the enhancement and further development of existing software packages and apps. This is a hands-on role, as part of a small but dedicated team of design professionals developing software solutions for the construction market.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

• Under the directions of the Software Development Manager, undertake development of new functionality, perform maintenance, and assist in all stages on the software life cycle of internally developed applications
• Liaise with internal subject matter experts, as well as providing support to external clients
• Provide fresh ideas from your recent group/team projects
• Be prepared to develop an understanding in the construction sector

To succeed in this role you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications IT or Computer Science
• A solid foundation in .NET, VB, C# and Xamarin Forms on Windows, OSX and mobile platforms
• A willingness to learn
• Good problem-solving skills, with a willingness to delve into unfamiliar technologies
• Good communication skills, with a good phone manner
• Have a hands-on approach to take concepts through to actions to achieve the required outcomes
• Work well independently and productively within a small team environment
