Governance officer
This leading Government Department is seeking a Governance Officer for an initial 3 month contract, based in Parramatta. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Governance Manager in managing the Corporate Governance Framework.
Key accountabilities:
- Co-manage the efficient and effective operation of the Secretariat function (preparation and distribution of committee papers, setting up agendas, organising meetings and acting as a minute secretary) to a portfolio of Executive Committees/Meeting. Act as a delegate for the Manager Corporate Governance when required.
- Draft or critically review committee meeting papers and liaise with the business to review content to ensure quality of material submitted.
- Maintain the delegations frameworks and support the management of Corporate Policy Framework including procedures for new or amended policies and coordination of the approval of cluster wide policies which apply to the entities.
- Assist in the regular review of governance processes including analyzing existing processes, recommending and implementing changes, documenting new processes and procedures to support compliance, continuous improvement and innovative best practice in governance.
Essential requirements:
- Experience as Governance advisor for 5+ years.
- Extensive experience in providing company secretarial services.
- Experience within government is desirable.
