Exciting opportunity to join a Federal Government agency as a Freedom of Information Officer!

Your new company
This Federal Government agency located in the Canberra City is seeking a Freedom of Information (FOI) officer for a 6-month contract with possible extension. Section 26 (S26) transfers would be considered for this role.

Your new role
In this role you will provide legislation and expert advice on matters pertaining to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act). You will also engage, collaborate and build key relationships with a range of stakeholders as well as bring a continuous improvement approach to educating staff on the FOI Act and privacy matters, which will include the preparation of privacy impact assessments and strategy development to improve legislative and compliance methodologies.

What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have significant experience with FOI/Privacy and the ability to interpret and apply legislation at the relevant level.
