Early Childhood Therapist – Teacher
Employment Term: Ongoing – Full Time or Part Time (minimum 3 days per week)
Location – Springwood
Total Remuneration Package $83,582 – $124,081 includes Annual Leave Loading and Superannuation

In your new role you will provide early childhood intervention services to support children with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families. You will work as a Key Worker on behalf of the Everyday Independence team of therapists and early childhood trained teachers who’ll be supporting you to help families to break down barriers to reveal children’s true abilities.

As a Key Worker you will

  • Plan and coordinate supports with the child and family that reflect strengths based and family centered approaches
  • Deliver supports to children and families that lead to positive outcomes, utilising a transdisciplinary key worker approach
  • Assess and communicate the child’s development and ongoing progress
  • Facilitate a team around the child that promotes participation in family, community and cultural activities
  • Ensure that supports are clearly documented, coordinated, and communicated to families and internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet the responsibilities of your role including positive outcomes with children and families, contributions to the team and meeting key performance indicators
  • Demonstrate the values of Everyday Independence

Your Everyday

  • Attended a family’s home to conduct their first appointment, getting to know them, their child and goals
  • Provided therapy strategies at a preschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
  • Supported the parents of a 5-year-old child to find a local school that best suits their child’s needs
  • Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
  • Accessed mentoring and internal supports to help grow your expertise and skills
  • Participated in a weekly team meeting and contributed thoughts, ideas and solutions
  • Shared a joke and a laugh with colleagues and maybe attended a hub social event
