We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and energetic Data & Insight professional to join our team as a Data Analyst. This position is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with Data & Insight generalist experience who is looking to increase their skill set and advance their career with a large organisation.

About the role / Business Unit

The Data Analyst supports the Modelling team by building, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining a variety of models. Such analyses may leverage illion’s own data, illion’s clients’ data, or a combination of both. The Data Analyst should be able to turn raw data into an analytic product/service which can be used by businesses to enable improved decision making. The problem domains covered may span one or more areas such as credit, insurance, marketing, and operations across both consumer and commercial. This role requires strong mathematical modelling, coding, critical reasoning, and attention to detail.

Duties

As a Data Analyst here at illion, your day to day responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with members of other teams such as IT, Legal, Data, and Product functions
  • Solving business problems using a wide variety of data science techniques. Analyses will be simplistic for some use cases and very advanced for others
  • Focusing on achieving quality and performance targets
  • Using of data in compliance with contractual terms and conditions and / or the law, in particular compliance to the National Privacy Principles and the Credit Bureau Code of Conduct

Skills & Experience

To be successful for this role you must have:

  • At least 1-2 years of work experience performing mathematical modelling in a business context
  • A strong academic background (PhD or Masters preferred) in a highly numeric degree, for example Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or Data Science
  • Strong background to code in Python, SQL and SAS
  • Ability to visualise data, in particular experience with creating/editing dashboards in PowerBI/Tableau
  • Exceptional abstract reasoning and attention to detail
