Commercial Lead, Endocrinology & Rare Disease

As a Commercial Lead, Endocrinology & Rare Disease for a global leader within the pharmaceutical industry, you will be in a unique position to lead the commercial management of the endocrinology & rare disease program. You will be charged with managing and leading endocrinology sales and marketing activities to ensure that sales objectives and profitable business growth are achieved.

You will be responsible for deploy global LCM strategy in the endocrinology therapeutic area as well as develop the APAC go-to-market strategy for Rare Disease portfolio (Japan, Korea)


  • Lead the 12-month sales and expenses forecasts locally and in Asian markets.
  • Monitor sales performance and expenses and propose corrective actions, when required.
  • Propose Budget, Strategic and Operational Plans in line with Corporate strategy.
  • Lead the development and execution of Strategic Account Plans.
  • Monitor supply chain. Resolve potential distribution issues.
  • Identify and recommend structural and resource requirements for local and Asian markets.
  • Lead the Account Management approach for our top accounts across the country.
  • Engage and leverage cross functional stakeholders to support customer education and relationship.
  • Engage key stakeholders across functions to ensure knowledge and insights are shared and reflected in sales strategy and tactics.
  • Lead sales engagement with key customers via the Key Customer Plan.
  • Manage key customer and KOL strategy and ensure direct customer engagement.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of Brand strategy and Operational Plan.
  • Ensure endorsement of launch plans of key brands in APAC markets and that they reflect the local market dynamics and governance structures.
  • Lead brands strategy and drive cross-functional execution.
  • Directly engage appropriate key customers to ensure thorough understanding of market dynamics and customer needs, behaviours and perceptions (this may also include engagement in APAC markets).
  • Ensure alignment and strong collaboration with the Medical and Market Access Department
  • Contribute to market access, pricing, commercial policy and business development as appropriate locally and APAC markets
  • Ensure selection, training and development of direct reports
  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Define appropriate incentive scheme

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Science, business or equivalent fields
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated record of commercial pharmaceuticals industry experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in endocrinology and rare disease setting as well as LCM including generic entry
  • Demonstrated abilities to work and communicate with multicultural stakeholders (in particular with Japanese)
  • Proven ability to analyse and make sound commercial decisions.
  • Active participation in a brand team and development and implementation of a brand plan
  • Excellent organisation, planning and management ability
  • Proven abilities to lead teams (ideally sales management)
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully influencing a cross functional team of people (a mix of experience, skills set and roles)
