Department Name: Community mental Health, Integrated Clinical Care Stream
The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 provides expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty. The Clinical Nurse Consultant develops, facilitates implementation and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs. The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice and initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services. The Clinical Nurse Consultant contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs and participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.
The Clozapine Coordinator will ensure best practice and effectively coordinate the implementation of clozapine
therapy and monitoring of consumers within the St Vincent’s Catchment Area.
This will be achieved through effective collaboration and consultation with clients, community mental health clinicians, family/carers and treating doctors, General Practitioners and others involved in care provision.

- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
- At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Demonstrated high level computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
- Demonstrated high level effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
