Located 320 kms south of Darwin, Katherine has an urban population of approximately 6,500, covers 530 sq kms and is widely regarded as the place where the “outback meets the tropics”. With a strong indigenous heritage, unique lifestyle location and an exciting long-term development agenda focused on defence, tourism and transport/logistics investment.
As CEO, you will be the key driver and influencer of all major community, cultural, economic and Council based initiatives – both short and long term. As a leader and communicator, your ability to inspire, engage and influence across culturally and professionally diverse stakeholder groups and communities will be critical. Other non-negotiable essentials will be the cultural awareness, sensitivity and empathy that comes from working within culturally diverse communities.
