The company

An exciting startup turned scaleup. They’ve captured a niche in the market, based around they offer a very elegant solution to a widespread problem.

They’re well and truly established with over 130 staff, spread across both Australia and the US. The plan is to be over 200 in 12 mths time.

The role

The company platform runs off an AWS backbone. There are a lot of AWS services being utilised: S3, lambda, fargate, VPC, RDS, IAM & cloudformation.

The role is largely focused on the management of that backbone, optimization of its performance, builds, troubleshooting, automation, etc. You’d work closely with the Java Devs, DevOps, SRE & other members of the cloud team.

They also run Docker, Jenkins and script using a mix of languages.

We’re looking for someone strong & broad around AWS and scripting. We’re also looking for someone with a can-do attitude and a pragmatic nature, who is focused on outcomes. In that sense you’ll probably have the makings of a good leader.

And that’s great. With the company growing rapidly, they see this person becoming a tech lead in time, and ideal first step into management while still being able to remain sharp technically.
