Due to growth and an internal promotion, we are seeking a proactive Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Analyst Revenue and Billing, who is a Chartered Accountant, this is a key role in the Finance team and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of billing activities as well as reporting and analysing the various KPI’s arising therefrom. Collaborative stakeholder engagement is a vital component of the role, and the successful candidate will be required to foster positive relationships both internally and externally.


About the role:

As our Assistant Accountant, you will join a dynamic Revenue and Billing team, which is part of our larger Finance team. Working closely with the Finance Analyst and Accountant, you will provide accounting and transactional support related to revenue recognition.

Key duties of the role (amongst others) will include;

  • Creation of customer invoices and credit notes
  • Preparing claims for the NDIS portal and processing remittances
  • Reviewing pre-billing exception reports
  • Monitoring customer correspondence via the generic mailbox
  • Supporting receipt allocation processes


To be successful in this role, you will:  

  • Have a minimum three years’ experience in an accounting role or senior transactional role.
  • Be studying towards or completion of finance degree or CA/CPA (or equivalent)
  • Experience using modules with an ERP system such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipting and customer management systems.
  • Competence in using Excel especially to extract and review large volumes of data.
  • Have a propensity to make improvements and be inquisitive.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide high levels of customer service, both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work constructively and positively in a finance team.
  • Current Driver’s licence
  • Current Influenza Vaccination & Covid-19 Vaccinations or willingness to obtain 
  • National Police Clearance (no older than 3 months)
