Properties, Facilities and Development

Our dynamic Properties, Facilities and Development (PF&D) department is responsible for the planning and management that provides a vibrant and beneficial environment for study, work and leisure. Whilst we look after programs and facilities that Curtin has in place, we are also undertaking some exciting infrastructure programs as part of our Greater Curtin Master Plan. This includes accommodation, academic buildings, research space, curated retail, a bus transport interchange and a range of public spaces and amenities.

Your new role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Administrator to join our vibrant Properties department.  Working as a core member within the Business Support team, this role assists with day to day administrate activities, supporting the operational effectiveness of the PF&D department.

You will provide general support to the area through arranging meetings, providing administrative and logistical support for existing projects, assisting with operational support for internal events, such as organising catering and venues if required and coordinating the content, publishing and distribution of reports and other documentation, (e.g. briefing papers, minutes and agenda papers and general correspondence). You will also provide personal assistance support to two directors which includes extensive diary management.

This position will suit an incumbent who has excellent use of initiative accompanied with strong interpersonal skills.  This role is broad ranging within its scope and requires an efficient individual with excellent time management skills who enjoys working in a team environment.  You will be have an outgoing and bubbly personality accompanied with extensive previous experience working in a busy environment of competing priorities.

You will bring to the role

  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to coordinate the administrative requirements of a functional area.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in both oral and written communication with a well-developed cross cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion and knowledge to determine appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
