About the Role

This position is responsible for providing an effective and efficient service to patients and clients attending the Nepean Cancer Care Centre (NCCC). The administration officer is expected to perform a variety of duties including reception services, bookings, retrieval of files, scanning of documentation into the patient information system and general office related tasks. The administration officer will perform all duties in an efficient manner and have sound working knowledge of Microsoft applications. The administration officer will have the ability to prioritise work and have strong organisational skills.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:

  1. Extensive administration experience with high level knowledge of Microsoft office suite, working in a similar support role including front line reception and appointment management whilst having the ability to multitask and be adaptable to change
  2. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adapt to a constantly changing fast paced environment
  3. Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form, including attention to detail. This is demonstrated through the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including patients and health professionals
  4. Demonstrated initiative to solve problems, ability to prioritise, coordinate and time manage daily tasks with minimal supervision
  5. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills when dealing with people with complex health needs
  6. Capacity to undertake a diverse range of administrative tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment
  7. Experience in paper based and electronic record maintenance and filing
